I think this advice might be good, but it’s really more contextual than you describe, and I think without getting into the nitty gritty of the contexts in which is true and which is not true, it’s little more than a truism. I’d be interested in a more rigorous examination of this issue. I’ve been seeing some similar things as my career has matured, but I think you could do more with the idea.
